Elder Sean Christian Snyder received his mission call to the Calgary Mission and entered the MTC on Dec. 20, 2017 :) We are excited to see him go to such a wonderful mission! We would like to share with our family, friends, and ward family Sean's mission in hopes that it will encourage future missionaries and give the rest of us a smile :) Kevin and I would like to thank all of you for your love and support of our family over the years. Love and big hugs to you all, Cami

Hello everyone!
What a gong show of a week it has been! Oh geez.. The definition of a Missionary should be gong show! Wow so I don't know really how to explain it, but this past week and a half has been so weird. So on Tuesday after I wrote, apparently we had a dinner scheduled with the Bartons, and I totally skipped it! I didn't mean to and felt so bad.... I missed an awesome meal of chicken and waffles with an awesome family! Ugh but then we started exchanges, Elder Lee went to Raymond and Elder Moore (the district leader) came to Magrath with me.
Wednesday was just really busy. After our studies and such, we took an hour and went through my area book and talked about potentials and such. Then we started to visit some referrals that we got from 7th ward and that my friends was a gong show! We visited with this older lady named Margaret and she's 96, partially deaf, and pretty much blind. And you know me, I don't talk very loud! But she kept talking about her family and how she's the oldest (she reminded us that she's 96...) so finally we share a quick message then I ask if I could leave with a prayer. So she stands up and tells us to get in a circle.. Then she holds our hands and I said the prayer.. Definitely one of my more different prayers! Oh geez the life of a missionary is fun sometimes! Then we actually did some tracting which I actually really like! You never know whats behind the door... Then we had dinner out in Welling with our Ward mission leader and his wife. Everyone in Welling now knows about my strong dislike of mayo and vegetables, so they all harass me for it. But it's good because they don't expect me to eat any of the gross vegetables! Ah then we re exchanged companions. Thus ended our night!
Thursday we may or may not have slept in a little bit.. Tracting just kinda drained me I guess. But we got up and vacuumed out our car which hasn't been vacuumed since before I got here.. Yeah it's been bugging me! But it's super clean now and then we took it to a car wash and the employee paid for our wash! Pretty nice people around here. Then we went to Sister Bartons to pick up some cookies and such that she had made, and took them down the street to the post office where we set up a table and gave out the cookies! We got meet a lot of people which was really fun. But it was really a gong show.. I use that phrase a lot now.. Canadians love that phrase apparently! Oh another one that I have picked up is "Just give er'"! I love that one! We use that if we are debating on whether or not to knock a door, we just say "Let's just give er'" and we do it! It's so weird but I love it! Oh then the strange part, during our little operation outside of the post office some random guy comes up to us and asks us for a blessing.. I had no idea who he was but I told him yes of course. We planned to meet at 6 that night to do it. I wasn't sure why we were giving one.. He was saying that he was going through menopause and that the guys at his work just don't understand.. Needless to say, I passed that blessing off to Elder Lee! I'm awful I know!! Strangest week of my life though! But we ended the night good with the Dahl family. They fed us nachos and made us laugh a lot! The daughter Emma is almost 18 and she is exactly like Kelsey our cousin! It's so funny though! Shes going to BYU in the fall so I told her she should meet up with Kelsey sometime! Lol
Friday we woke up and had to drive very out to Raymond for zone conference. It was actually a really good conference. We talked about how we as missionaries can gain revelation not only for ourselves, but also for our areas. President had us each individually find a room in the church and ask for help in our areas and to write down the thoughts and feelings that come to mind. It's really cool, I now know exactly what needs to happen here in Magrath! Then we talked about baptisms and such but President also introduced to us the new mission president and his wife! Not in person but they sent a letter that they read to us. They sound like awesome people and I can't wait to meet them! Then we had an hour long testimony meeting. I wish our investigators and members could be there to listen to all of those missionaries testimonies! What amazing people I get to serve with!
Saturday we volunteered to do the highway cleanup project in Del Bonita. It was actually pretty cool, nothing but beer bottles and cans to pick up though.. Makes me think of how many people around here drive drunk.. Huh. Then we came home and showered to then have interviews with President! I always love interviews because it's pretty much the only time I see President and Sister Miles. It's going to be sad to see them go in June! Then I took a nap and then we had an appointment with a member that went pretty great. Then Elder Lee changed into his workout stuff and we went to the Bartons and he played soccer with Quinn (I stayed inside.. Lol) then they let us have dinner with them! And after, we went tracting! It's so hard in this town because everyone wants you to be in their house for like an hour and we love the people but we need to work too.. So we only contacted like 2 families! But it's good, I really like it!
Sunday I woke up with a really bad sore throat and headache and Elder Lee had a headache and slight sore throat! So we made it to Sacrament at 9 and that's all we could do. We ended up coming home and taking pills. Then we slept most of the day!
Monday we had district meeting in Raymond and honestly it's so funny! Sister Prince is so funny and super sarcastic it's great! Then we had lunch at subway. Then we put a bunch of stuff into our area book. Then we spent the rest of the day looking for fishing poles to use for P day! Needless to say we found 4 fishing poles courtesy of the Stringhams and the Bartons! Then we had this zone video chat and that was a freaking gong show! Nobody knew what was going on and it kept freezing.. Haha it was so funny though!
Today (Tuesday) Is P-Day! We woke up at 4am to drive out to Raymond to go fishing! Yeah honestly it was a lot of fun to fish in the dark before the sun rose but definitely one of the dumbest things I've done! Didn't catch anything... But now we are going to Cardston today for Zone P-Day potluck thing.. should be fun.
Hope everyone are doing well there, my love to everyone!
Love,
Elder Seanzee
